UNLOCK THE EDGE

Unlock the Edge was awarded the 1st place in a design competition for the Chijiaokou Riverfront Park Competition in Dongguan, China. Based on different edge issues and urban conditions, we proposed mainly four typology for the water edges – Eco Core, City Harbor, Soft Urban Edge and Performing Village Edge. The southern peninsula act as an ecological core that connects surrounding ecological patches in the region. The Central Lake Park and Yacht Park will act as central city harbors that bring identity to the water new town. Surrounding urban waterfornts will create dynamic, diverse and continuous soft urban edge for the city. Water edges of existing village and farmland will be regenerated into high-performance tissues that protect and improve neighborhoods environment.
