The Shanghai Center Sky Lounge will be a venue for daily life, business, exhibitions, gatherings, and celebration. Derived from the forms of a magnolia flower, which also inspired the building’s aesthetic, the design proposes a central courtyard that can accommodate multiple uses and events. In addition, a series of outdoor lounge rooms are provided through the creation of elevated and sunken platforms along the edge of the roof. The inclusion of custom movable planters, furniture, and screens further responds to programming needs of varying scales and intensity.
