The design for the Kunyu Mountain Alpine Botanical Garden is organized into four distinct regions: the Flower Sea, Forest Hill, Gingko Grove, and Creek Gardens. With several seasonal creeks transecting the site, close attention was paid to hydrology and topography in order to protect the ecological systems in place. A teahouse, wetland walk, and woodland gardens provides opportunities for recreation while framing views towards the Flower Sea and Kunyu Mountain Valley. The plant palette respond to the seasons with a diverse range of foliage and colors. The Kunyu Mountain Botanical Garden celebrates and enhances the existing characteristics of the site while facilitating opportunities for recreation, tourism, and ecological stewardship.
